Roz was born into a family of musicians whose primary focus was Gospel and Christian music. She performed her first song, O Happy Day, when she was almost 2 years old for a small church congregation. Roz began playing musical instruments at 5 years old and has continued to play and sing for a variety of numerous events. Over the years, she has added country and bluegrass music to her list of genres. Songwriting has always been her passion, so in 2002, she began pursuing her dream of writing. When she began her writing career, Roz turned her emphasis toward the Country music market. However, she continues to stay true to her roots and writes Gospel and Christian songs, as well. She is a Bluegrass Valley Records artist and recently had her first radio single release, "The Star". She has had songs recorded by Christian artists and is still writing for a Christian music publisher in Nashville. Roz studied Music at Messenger College in Joplin, MO and later received her degree in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS.
LeeAnn grew up in the Deep South and has been singing since a very early age. She began playing piano, bass guitar, and other instruments as a child and continues to play keyboards and sing with her church's worship team. Her three children are musically inclined, as well, and perform with her on many occasions. LeeAnn is a gifted writer, and is skilled in computer technology, as well. Presently, she is the administrator for Roz Merchant Music's web pages and assists with marketing and publicity for Roz and other artists. In her "free" time, she's an elementary school teacher and received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS.
Chadd grew up in West Point, MS and started his musical career playing bass guitar and drums in any church that would ask him to play. In high school, he began playing with various local bands. He performed with gospel, country, and rock bands. He, also, added studio musician to his list of accomplishments. Chadd began writing and co-writing with other artists more than ten years ago. He is a career Police Officer and the Sergeant of Investigations for Starkville Police Department in Starkville, MS. Chadd graduated with honors from Mississippi State University in 2005. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
Dennis and Leslie McKay
Dennis McKay is a gifted songwriter, musician, and sound engineer from the great State of Alabama. He began singing and playing music as a child. Dennis came from a talented family and spent much of his time performing and working with professional artists. His expertise on the guitar has won him fame throughout the South, and he is well-known as a music instructor in North Mississippi and Alabama. Dennis has been songwriting for years and has had songs recorded by top Christian artists. He currently writes Country, Blues, Pop, Gospel, and more for Nashville publishers. In 2010, he married Leslie. She, also, is an accomplished writer and singer and works along side him in his studio. At Studio 115A, located at 115A Alabama Street in Columbus, MS, they teach acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, bass, and vocal lessons and do recording sessions for other artists.
Linda passed away in July, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. She was a blessing, and we miss her so much! We know she is with her Lord and making music in Heaven.
Linda is a skilled lyricist and songwriter from Brandon, Mississippi. She has been writing poetry and prose for many years and has recently begun pursuing the craft of songwriting. Linda's elegant lyrics make for easy listening, and she is an expert at storytelling. She has a Bachelor of Science in English from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Education degree with an emphasis in Psychology from Mississippi State University. Her career focus has been Academics and Forensic Psychology. However, Linda has retired from those fields and has teamed up with our artists to focus on writing hit songs. She has two sons, Wes and Michael, who are both gifted artists and one grandson, Jack...her most precious God-given gift!
